High-Capacity Precision Bending
The Physics of Heavy Bending
Bending 1/4″ plate is a standard task for most shops; forming 1″ thick hardened steel with precision is another story entirely. Most fabrication shops reach their mechanical limits quickly when the material thickness increases, leading to “cracked” bends, inconsistent angles, or excessive internal stress on the metal.
At Craftco, we’ve invested in the technology required to remove those limitations for our clients.
The Competitive Edge: The Diamond BH 8525
We’ve recently upgraded our bending department with the Diamond BH 8525, a high-performance press brake designed for extreme accuracy and high-tonnage applications.
- Dual-Drive Precision: The BH 8525 utilizes a sophisticated drive system that ensures the ram stays perfectly parallel, even when handling off-center loads. For our clients, this means a 10-foot bend is just as accurate at the ends as it is in the middle.
- Smart Springback Calibration: Every metal has a “memory.” The advanced CNC interface on the Diamond series allows our operators to calculate exact springback factors based on the specific material grade and thickness. This ensures that a 90-degree specification results in a 90-degree part, reducing rework and assembly fitment issues.
- Heavy-Duty Versatility: While we specialize in high-precision work, we also have the “muscle” for large structural components essential for the energy, agriculture, and mining sectors.
Beyond the Bend: A Integrated Approach
Bending is rarely the final step in a manufacturing project. Because Craftco is a full-service facility, your components move seamlessly from the Diamond BH 8525 directly into our professional welding or CNC machining departments. This “One-Stop” approach ensures that the tolerances established during the bending phase are maintained through final assembly and finishing.
Put Our Technology to Work
If your project requires heavy-duty forming that other shops have turned down, we have the capacity and the technology to deliver.
