While there is a perception that welding is a male-dominated field, there are efforts to train and mentor more female welders. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a movement at technical colleges in their region is taking place to encourage more women to earn welding degrees. Peer encouragement and efforts to diversify the workplace are among the tactics. We hope this movement grows in size and scope.
